Sharing Between 2 - Read a Book

Screenshot from Sharing Between 2 - Read a Book

In this Clicker Book, students read a food shopping story to explore the concept of sharing equally between two. The story presents problems involving division (of quantities less than 20), with pictorial representations and corresponding division statements and equations using the ÷ and = symbols to show the answers.

The book consists of pairs of question and explanation pages. The question pages present a total number of an item bought and ask, "How many … for each person?". Each question page is followed by an explanation page, which provides a pictorial representation of the answer, and a statement written in words (e.g. "Four shared equally between two is two") and numerals (e.g. 4 ÷ 2 = 2) to demonstrate the equation.

Students can make their own book using the set "Sharing Between 2 – Make a Book." For other sets on this topic, see the range of "Sharing Between 2" sets or search for division on LearningGrids.
