Food from Plants or Animals - Sorting

Screenshot from Food from Plants or Animals - Sorting

In this Custom Set, students show their understanding of where food comes from, by sorting pictures of food and drinks according to their source. They decide which items belong in each group by using their knowledge of whether they have come from a plant or an animal.

On the activity pages, click on the empty cells and choose the item which comes from an animal and the one that comes from a plant. On the first pages, students sort the objects in pairs so that they focus on just two pictures at a time. On the final page, they sort all sixteen objects into the two categories.

For a more advanced sorting activity on this topic, where children complete a Venn diagram to show whether a range of food and drinks are sourced from plants or animals – or both, see the Clicker Board Set "Food Source – Plant or Animal". Search for food or plants on LearningGrids for other Clicker resources on this topic.
