    With this Custom Set, children match pairs of opposite words.

    On the start page, click on each word to see the opposite pairs. On each activity page, children see a target word. They then open the pop-up and select the opposite word from a choice of ten to complete the pair. Their choices are summarized on the final page, enabling you to assess performance.

    Monster Gallery

    In this Custom Set, children paint pictures of monsters to illustrate a range of adjectives.

    On the start page, click on an adjective to open an activity page. Paint a picture of a monster to match the adjective in the sentence. Children can also record information about their picture. Click on the gallery button on the start page to view all the pictures and to listen to the recordings.

    Animal Verbs

    With this Custom Set, students focus on verbs in sentences. They find verbs within sentences about animals and create a verb list.

    On the start page, click on each picture to open a pop-up grid which shows an action sentence about an animal. Right click on the sentence to listen. Can the students identify the verb or action word in the sentence?

    In the activity, click on the empty cells to open pop-up grids which show the sentences as before but broken into word blocks. Find the verb in the sentence and click on it to add it to the list. If the student chooses the incorrect word, they can try again. Work through all the empty cells to complete the verb list.

    For follow-up activities, see the Word Bank "Animal Verbs", which can be used to create subject-verb-place animal sentences, or use the Clicker Board Animal Verbs to create mind maps of verbs associated with the animals.     On each board, click on a cell to add text. To add more cells, double-click on the background. When all the mind maps are complete, right-click on a board background and create a tabbed word bank for writing.
