A Spot of Paint

This Connect Set encourages children to use phonic decoding skills to make appropriate word choices and retell a simple story based on phonically decodable text and common exception words. The text includes the phonemes/graphemes: ai, j, or, oa, ie, ee (as well as cumulative phonemes/graphemes from earlier groups).

On each grid, they select from a choice of phonically decodable words to correctly complete the sentence.

Children can read the story on which the text is based in the Clicker Book "A Spot of Paint – Read a Book".
