Magnet Strength Investigation

This Word Bank contains a frame and a word bank to enable pupils to write an outline of an investigation into which of two magnets has the strongest magnetic force.

The set is based on an investigation to test the distance at which a bar and a horseshoe magnet can use magnetic force to move a paper clip. To complete the test, place a paper clip on a table next to a ruler and move a magnet slowly towards it. Record the distance at which the magnet pulled the paper clip towards it. Test each magnet in the same way and repeat ten times.

For other Clicker resources on the topic, search for magnetism on LearningGrids. To record the outcome of an investigation into which objects are and which are not magnetic use the Word Bank "Magnetism Investigation".
