    Solid, Liquid or Gas

With this Clicker Communicator set, pupils talk about whether different objects are solids, liquids, or gases. Using the first grid, they can identify the property of objects. With the second grid, they can respond to requests such as “Give me an example of a liquid.”

The set can be used alongside the Clicker set “Solids, Liquids, and Gases Sorting” which provides headings for pupils to classify a selection of objects. Search for “states of matter” on LearningGrids for other related sets.

    Solids, Liquids and Gases Chart

In this Custom Set, pupils read and sort statements describing the properties of the three states of matter. As they complete the activity, they build a chart outlining a set of descriptions for solids, liquids and gases.

On each page read the statement and decide if it best describes a solid, liquid or gas. Select the relevant button to move to a confirmation page. With an incorrect choice review the statement and try again. As you work through the set, you complete a chart outlining a full set of descriptions.

See the “Solids, Liquids and Gases” sets for a related word bank and to sort materials into lists of solids, liquids and gases.

    Evaporation Investigation Two

This Word Bank contains starters and vocabulary to enable pupils to write an outline of an investigation in which they find out if water evaporates at different rates in different conditions.

The tabs contain a frame and relevant vocabulary to write up the investigation in which equal amounts of water are placed in different locations for a fixed period of time. The water is then measured to see if there are any changes to the volume.

For another investigation writing frame, see "Evaporation Investigation One". For other Clicker resources on the topic, search for states of matter or materials on LearningGrids.
