From Fish to Fossil

With this Connect Set, students write about how fossils are formed when things that have lived are trapped within rock, using a fish as an example. Each grid contains starters, verbs, and endings to write sentences about how the fossilization process takes place, stage by stage, from the death of the fish through to the discovery of its fossil. A pictures grid is provided to support the writing.

Students can read about how fossils are formed in the Clicker Book "From Fish to Fossil – Read a Book". For further follow-up resources, search for fossils on LearningGrids.
