Vertebrates and Invertebrates - Sorting

This is a Custom Set for sorting pictures of animals according to whether they are vertebrates or invertebrates. Students decide which animals belong in each group by using their knowledge of what makes a vertebrate or an invertebrate – use the information pop-ups to consolidate their understanding.

On the activity pages, click on the empty cells and choose the animal which is a vertebrate and the one which is an invertebrate. On the first pages, students sort the animals in pairs so that they focus on just two pictures at a time. On the final page, they sort all twenty animals into the two categories.
