Living and Non-Living Things - Sorting

This is a Custom Set for sorting pictures of objects according to whether or not they are alive or have never been alive. Students can decide which objects belong in each group by using their knowledge of the characteristics that are shared by all living things (i.e. life processes such as move, eat, breathe, and grow).

On the activity pages, click on the empty cells and choose the object which is or is not a living thing. On the first pages, students sort the objects in pairs so that they focus on just two pictures at a time. On the final page, they sort all twenty objects into the two categories.
