    Latin Prefixes

    In this Custom Set, pupils explore the meaning of common prefixes, which have a Latin origin.

    On the start page, discuss the six prefixes and ask pupils if they know what they mean or know any words that begin with the prefixes. On the activity pages, pupils sort words by the prefixes and select the meaning for each of the prefixes. A word bank is provided on the final grid for pupils to write sentences using the words from the activity.

    With this Custom Set, pupils build a simple profile of a traditional story character (a giant) by responding to prompt questions about the character's appearance, actions, feelings and dialogue.

    On the start page, click on the speaker buttons to hear the prompt questions. On the activity page, click on the questions to open word banks. Work collaboratively to add words which answer the questions (shift-click in a cell to add text). When the word banks have been populated, go to the writing page by clicking on the write button.
