Electrical Conductors and Insulators Investigation

This Word Bank contains starters and vocabulary to enable students to write an outline of an investigation in which they find out which materials are good electrical conductors.

The tabs contain a frame and relevant vocabulary to write up the investigation in which objects made from a range of materials are tested to see which ones can complete an electrical circuit.

To complete the tests: set up a simple circuit with a bulb, a battery and wires, but make a gap in the circuit. Then get the children to test different objects in the gap to see which ones can complete the circuit and make the bulb light up. Make a note of the ones which do complete the circuit (conductors) and those that do not (insulators).
